Our team at Bathrooms of Charleston recently did a tub to shower conversion in Hanahan for the homeowners. They wanted to have their tub replaced with an accessible walk-in shower. The existing bathroom had a jacuzzi tub and an old shower stall. The homeowners, were looking for aging in place solutions, and due to health reasons could not safely get into the shower and navigate the bathroom. We removed the existing tub, and installed a new solid surface shower with a low, barrier free threshold. Our showers are beautiful grout-free, low maintenance solid surface shower. With a slip resistant shower base. We also replaced the window in the tub area with a smaller transom window that offers more privacy. We installed ADA friendly shower fixtures with easy to grasp handles, grab bars throughout the shower and in the rest of the bathroom, and a fold down teak bench seat in the shower. We installed a custom sliding glass door shower enclosure. Additionally we installed new LVP flooring throughout the bathroom and built a new linen closet for additional storage. We also replaced the vanity faucets with new, easy to grasp fixtures.

“They removed the jacuzzi tub, which we did not use and installed a modern, walk-in shower with a seat and safety grab bars. Removed the old shower and in its place installed a walk-in linen closet with twice the room of our existing “closet”. Safety grab bars on the bathroom walls, new fixtures on the existing vanity and new LED lighting. Also painted the bathroom, new flooring and replaced the trim. They also removed a large glass brick window and replaced it with a small window over the shower. Even matched the existing vinyl siding. Josh, the installer, was on time every day and worked straight through 8 am to 3 pm. He was organized and neat, cleaning the work area each day before he left.
